First Blog Post: Introduction

Comic books...

...especially DC comics and the DC Universe in other media as well, have been a huge part of my life, from watching reruns of the DCAU, DC films, reading my first trades to collecting my first comics from LCS. 

Aside from that I'm also a huge Star Wars fan and I've occasionally read comics from other publishers. On SW, I'm more of a Legends/Old EU fan and I've read comics from that canon.

Superman and Batman have been my favorite superheroes and fictional characters in general since I was a toddler and still are now. I honestly can't say which I prefer. Other characters I'm a big fan of that I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on would be Spectre, Flash(es), Green Lantern(s) and Captain Marvel/"Shazam". Supes and Bats are definitely my expertise though. I'm also a huge fan of Jack Kirby's Fourth World Saga and I've read many, many other DC comics and characters. With Marvel, I'm a huge Spider-Man fan too. 

My favorite DC comics writers include but are not limited to: Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, Geoff Johns, Mark Waid, Scott Snyder, Peter Tomasi, John Ostrander, Paul Dini, Dennis O'Neil, Steve Englehart and Elliot S! Maggin. 

My favorite artists include but are not limited to: Jack Kirby, Curt Swan, Neal Adams, Marshall Rogers, Brian Bolland, Jim Lee, Jason Fabok and Francis Manapaul. 

*This all just at the top of my head and of course there's definitely room for more in the future.

On why "Earthmine52": It's sort of a code for my real name. Some of my closer friends IRL know what it means. I'll be posting my stuff here soon and once that's done all my new posts that I make. Maybe some exclusive stuff from Reddit too.

Superman (2025) Comic Book Inspirations and Theories for the Sequel

3 years ago... ... I wrote a post on the comics that influenced The Batman , and shared my thoughts on the film and theories for the future. So, I figured, why not make a post on the film just like that one! I will be focusing mainly on comic books, though of course I will do my best to shout out films and TV shows when appropriate, all while integrating my thoughts and theories as I go. If you're new to comics, I hope this film gets you to read these, but if not I hope you can give them a reread or at least have a new found appreciation, while also looking forward to what this new DCU has in store for him.
